Domestic Abuse Act 2021 – protection for survivors in legal proceedings

This second session in our DA Act 2021 series., this course will take you through measures in Part 5 of the Act which promote the safety of survivors in the courts. This  includes:

  1. Special measures
  2. Prohibition of direct cross-examination in family and civil proceedings
  3. Orders that can be used to prevent perpetrators applying for orders in relation to children without permission from the court, also known as “barring orders”

Who should attend?

It is open to all professionals working in London boroughs on violence against women and girls issues from the community, voluntary and statutory sectors including refuge workers, IDVAs, ISVAs, social workers, housing officers, police officers, education professionals and health professionals. It is also open to Commissioners and Local Authority Officers responsible for commissioning violence against women services.
